Oulton Moto Store1974

About

Built around the bikes we love.

Oulton Moto Store was formed in 2024, built around an old enthusiasm.

We make no pretence at decades of trading history. Oulton Moto Store was formed in 2024. The interest behind it is not.

Steve Rastall, who founded the business, was born in 1974 and grew up through the period when Japanese manufacturers reinvented what a sports motorcycle could do, and when Italian factories turned racing technology into objects that people wanted simply to look at. Those were the motorcycles on bedroom walls, and later the ones worth saving up for.

The business began with storage — looking after motorcycles for friends and other enthusiasts who wanted somewhere better than a damp garage. Owners then began asking whether we could prepare a bike, then whether we could sell one, then whether we could find one. Sales, sourcing and collection care all grew from that.

Being close to Oulton Park is a happy coincidence rather than a claim of association. It does mean, however, that we are surrounded by people who understand these motorcycles.

Our aim is straightforward: to be the sort of place a collector is content to leave an important motorcycle, and confident to let somebody else sell one.

Clientele

Looked after by collectors, here and worldwide.

UK & international

Our clients are collectors and enthusiasts across the UK and overseas — from Cheshire and the North West to Europe and further afield. Some visit by appointment; others instruct us remotely and trust us to act as their eyes and hands.

Anywhere delivery

We arrange enclosed collection and delivery to anywhere — a farmhouse in Cheshire, an apartment in London, a collector in Europe or a new owner on another continent. Wherever the motorcycle needs to be, it arrives properly prepared and properly documented.

Trusted hands

A collection left with us is handled as if it were our own: routine care, condition reports, and a single point of contact who knows every bike by name rather than by stock number.

The people

Run by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts.

Steve Rastall

Born in 1974 — the year Oulton Moto Store takes its starting point from — Steve has had a lifelong interest in motorcycles, cars and motorsport. He has been riding motorcycles since the age of nine, as well as being involved in motorsport more generally.

Living close to Oulton Park has also meant plenty of time around circuits, paddocks and race meetings, developing an appreciation for the engineering, history and provenance behind interesting petrol powered art.

Steve founded Oulton Moto Store in 2024 with a simple aim: to create the kind of secure, professionally managed environment he would want for his own bikes, whether they are being stored, maintained, prepared for use or looked after as part of a collection.

Jack Leese

Jack has been involved in motorsport for much of his life, starting with karts and then trying different things. His background includes a motorsport course at Loughborough as part of the MSA Academy, and he works at Oulton Park with MSV as an ARDS and BARS qualified motorsport instructor.

He has a strong appreciation for the people with a passion for petrol and bikes, whether they are intended to be collected, enjoyed on the road or used in motorsport.

At Oulton Moto Store, Jack brings a practical and considered approach to supporting those who want to enjoy them both on the road and in motorsport.

The green room

Our green room — for work and clients alike.

Days in the office are spent where the bikes are. Our green room sits alongside the storage and workshop space, looking out over the Cheshire fields — a quiet place to work through paperwork, review a condition report over a coffee, or simply talk motorcycles.

Clients are always welcome to use it. If you are visiting to view a motorcycle, dropping off a bike for storage or attending a collection day, the green room is yours — private, unhurried and with the door open to the garden when the weather allows.
