Goodwood 2023: the classic paddock up close

Our first Revival as a business, and the classic motorcycle paddock was where we spent most of it. To see machines like the 1950s Vincents and Nortons not as static exhibits but as working racing motorcycles — warm oil, open throttles, leathers and all — reframes what preservation means.

The standard of preparation is the real lesson. Every motorcycle on that grid is maintained to a level that most road bikes never see, and it shows in how reliably they run and how hard they are ridden.

It set the benchmark for how we approach the machines in our care: originality respected, mechanical condition beyond question, and everything documented. We left with a long list of contacts and a longer list of standards to hold ourselves to.
