Isle of Man TT 2026: race week on the Island
Our annual crossing to the Island for race week — the Mountain at dawn, the paddock at full noise, and why the TT still sets the standard for road racing.
Race week on the Isle of Man remains unlike anything else in the motorcycle world. We crossed with clients on the ferry, bikes in the hold, and spent the days between practice and racing moving between the paddock, the grandstand and the quieter corners of the Mountain course.
What always strikes us is the machinery. Beneath the grandstands and along the pit lane you find everything from current superbikes to lovingly kept two-strokes and homologation specials ridden over for the fortnight. The Island in TT week is the finest informal motorcycle gathering in Britain.
Several of the motorcycles we look after make this trip every year, and part of our job is making sure they arrive ready — fuelled, checked and prepared for the mountain roads, not just the ride over. It is the kind of event that reminds you why these machines were built to be used.
